About Us

Due to very low usage and recent UCF budget cuts, Computer Services & Telecommunications (CS&T) will no longer be offering or supporting local (407-235-4201) and toll-free “On-the-Go” Internet dial-up services beginning October 1, 2008.

At-home users of the dial-up service should immediately find alternatives for Internet access to the University. CS&T suggests that users switch to broadband services such as DSL or Roadrunner.

UCF faculty and staff planning to travel on official University business should consider purchasing cellular mobile broadband devices and service or have their department purchase such devices and service on their behalf. This type of wireless service is exempt from IRS Section 274(d)(4) - see UCF Policy Number 4-009 at http://policies.ucf.edu/.

For a limited time, CS&T is offering Sprint cellular mobile broadband devices and service for UCF “On-the-Go” employees requiring data communications while away on official business inside the United States only. The service is available for a cost of $25.00 per week on a first-come first-serve basis due to limited supply. The devices can be plugged into a laptop using either the USB port or a PC Card socket. CS&T encourages UCF departments with staff who travel often to purchase their own devices and service from their preferred cellular carrier.

If you have any questions or need to request a Sprint wireless card, please contact the Computer Services & Telecommunications Service Desk at 407-823-5117 or servicedesk@mail.ucf.edu.
