What exactly is my NID used for?
Your NID (Network ID) is the key to accessing several central computing systems on campus. Your NID is the same for each system but the passwords for each system may be different.
How do I reset my NID?
If you are trying to access:

The East, West, Classroom building, Leap, and Business labs can be reset by logging into a computer with the user name “help” and no password.

I tried to reset my password for one of the systems listed above but it said it was unable to confirm my identity. What does this mean?
Double check the information you have entered. If the information you entered is correct then you should visit the UCF Card Services in the John T. Washington Center to have your information verified in their computer. If you have lost your UCF card in the past, make sure you are using the correct card number from your most up-to-date card.
What should I do if my identity cannot be confirmed and I need to access one of my accounts immediately?
Please contact the Service Desk at 407-823-5117. They should be able to reset your account manually.
My card works at the gym and many other places. Why doesn't it work in the labs or on the reset pages?
Only your most recently issued UCF card is considered your official identity. Older cards should be discarded. If you are unsure of which card you have, please visit UCF Card Services in the John T. Washington Center. You may call them at 407-823-2100.
I got a new card but I am still unable to reset my password. What else could be wrong?
The system updates your new UCF card number every 6 hours starting from 7am and ending at 7pm. You should check the system sometime after 7am, 1pm, and 7pm depending on the time you renewed your card. If you still cannot login you can call the Service Desk at 407-823-5117 and they may be able to do a manual reset for you.
