UCF Travel Dialup Access Server Usage Guidelines:
underline

UCF Computer Services manages an access server which has six 1-877 (toll free) phone lines on it. The access server is available for UCF faculty/staff to use in order to access UCF computer and network resources while traveling on University Business.

The following information details the policy for using this service (currently at no cost to UCF departments):

  1. Users must request access to the access server via filling out the Access Server Request form which is sent to Computer Services staff for processing.
  2. Users will have a guest account created on the access server and will be emailed the userid/password information to use the access server.
  3. Access will normally be granted for one week from the beginning of the travel period. Longer periods of time must be approved by the Director of Computer Services & Telecommunications.
  4. Requests will normally take two business days to process, please plan ahead to use this service. If you have problems with using the access server, please contact the User Services Help Desk at (407) 823-5117.
  5. A reply will be sent when a new request is received to let the requestor know that the travel access request will be processed.
  6. The access information to use the service will be sent one (1) working day before the start of the travel period.
  7. The access server has an inactivity timeout set to 30 minutes. Sessions which are connected but do not appear to be active after 30 minutes will be dropped by the access server.
  8. We request that users limit the usage of this service in order to reduce the costs for the Univeristy and keep this service available.
